Just wanted to take a minute to go into some more depth about this group; hopefully you all read this and can agree with all these new changes, as well as ease any worries.
Ok, so the first thing I have noticed for submissions is submitting to the wrong folder; this happens a LOT. I wish I had the time to inform people during their submission to resubmit to "X" folder, but I really don't. Unfortunately, I have to decline a lot of artworks that would normally make it through the voting process due to this silly mistake. Please, just be more aware of where you are submitting, otherwise it will be declined. If you realise you have made a mistake, then you can withdraw and resubmit to the correct folder. If you're not entirely sure where to submit, then please note the group and we will let you know.
Secondly; this group no longer accepts EVERY submitted art. It now has to undergo voting. The voting process isn't based on what admins like/dislike, because that's not fair; art is subjective, and we all have different tastes. Quality it the big thing here. Here are a few pointers to help make sure your art is accepted:
Obviously, correct folder!
If you have taken a picture of your art, please make sure the picture is of good quality! We won't accept grainy pictures, or with excessive amounts of shadow. It might be a good idea to crop your picture, too: we want your art to be the focus, not your desk, or your bedroom!
Quick sketches, or scribbles will not be accepted if they are too messy. Especially if your sketches are smudged to the point where the detail is compromised.
The actual quality of your picture is important to us. We want to showcase the best of your talents to our watchers. So, we would like to see that you have good technique in your selected medium.
PLEASE reference any stock you use; especially for photomanipulations.
Although this won't really affect the vote, it would be nice to have a small description of your work!
If anyone would like even more detail on this, feel free to message us.
Now, as for declined deviations: we generally do not provide a response, however; I will always provide a critique if requested. I don't like feeling that people might be upset, but too scared to ask for reasons of why their art was declined; I don't bite! Please, feel free to ask; I will always respond.
Hopefully, this will clear a few things up and help some of you guys. We will be looking for more contributors/moderators soon, so keep your eyes open for our next journal!
